The Smith & Wesson Baton is constructed from 4130 seamless alloy steel tubing with a Rockwell hardness rating of HRC 46–47. The baton has a tensile strength of 6,639 lbf (3,011 kgf) and a bending strength of 4,056 lbf (1,840 kgf).
The handle features a textured, raised rubber grip surface. A patent-pending window punch is integrated into the design. This baton ships with a 360-degree rotating sheath.
