Area 419 Sidewinder Magnum Self-Timing Muzzle Brake .338 Cal Black Nitride 3/4-24

The Area 419 Sidewinder Magnum is a self-timing muzzle brake chambered for .338 caliber with a 3/4-24 thread pitch, finished in Black Nitride. It is manufactured from heat-treated 17-4PH stainless steel and made in the USA on CNC machines in NW Ohio.

The Sidewinder's self-timing system is designed so the brake will not rotate as the collar is torqued down. A universal adapter threads onto the barrel using a 13/16" wrench and can remain in place permanently. The brake and collar assembly then threads onto the adapter using left-hand threads. Once the brake is rotated to the desired orientation and pushed into the adapter, it locks onto a taper, and the collar is tightened by hand with a round knurled nut that requires no tools. Area 419 states that return to zero is excellent, meaning removal and reinstallation do not require a zero change.

Area 419 notes that the Sidewinder is modeled after their Hellfire brake. The Hellfire was independently tested and showed 52% recoil reduction on a 6.5 Creedmoor test rifle. Area 419 states the Sidewinder has one more port and a larger diameter than the Hellfire.
