Arsenal SAM5 5.56x45mm Semi-Auto AK Rifle with AK-74 FSB, AK-133S Flash Hider, and 30rd Magazine

The Arsenal SAM5 is a semi-automatic rifle chambered in 5.56x45mm (.223 Rem), built on a milled and forged receiver produced by Arsenal Co. of Bulgaria. This is the civilian semi-automatic version of the Bulgarian AR-M1 select-fire rifle, built with 100% new-production parts and components.

Receiver Construction

The SAM5 receiver is milled from a hot-die hammer forged receiver blank. Arsenal's hot-die hammer forging process uses a 5-ton hammer, which the manufacturer states eliminates internal voids and cooling deformations present in bar-stock machined receivers. The forged blank requires over 5.5 hours of milling before assembly. The bolt and bolt carrier are also Bulgarian hot-die hammer forged.

Barrel

The cold hammer-forged 16.3" barrel is manufactured at Arsenal's Bulgarian factory using Steyr manufacturing technology. The bore and chamber are hard-chrome plated. The muzzle features 24x1.5mm right-hand threads with the AK-133S flash hider installed. The AK-74 type front sight block (FSB) is fitted at the muzzle end.

Fire Control Group

The rifle is equipped with the FIME Group Enhanced Fire Control Group (FM-922EUS), designed for AK- and RPK-based rifles. The FIME Enhanced FCG includes a single-hook trigger, hammer, disconnector, and disconnector springs. According to the manufacturer, the design features an elongated disconnector tail that contacts the rear trigger guard rivet and a hammer stop intended to prevent hammer-to-trigger contact. The disconnector face is designed to make full contact with the hammer.

Stock and Furniture

The rifle ships with black polymer furniture and a US-made intermediate-length 10" trapdoor buttstock with a cleaning kit compartment. Total length of pull is 13.4". A side-attached scope rail is included.

Compliance and Magazine

The SAM5 is 922(r) compliant with US or imported magazines. One 30-round Circle 10 M-74N 5.56x45mm magazine is included. Product photos may show a cleaning rod (AK-341), which is sold separately.
