The Iver Johnson Arms IJ600 Lightweight is a full-size 28 gauge over/under shotgun chambered for 3-inch shells. The 28-inch barrel features a ventilated rib, and the receiver is silver with engraved aluminum construction. The stock and forend are fixed walnut wood, and the configuration is noted as ambidextrous.

The shotgun has a break-open action and a 2-round capacity. A selector switch located on the safety allows the shooter to choose which barrel fires first. The IJ600 Lightweight also includes sling swivels and a bead front sight.
